Since nobody watches the State of the Union Address, here's a post!!

Obama gave his state of the Union address Wednesday. I thought he came off sounding poised and unafraid of the unprecedented challenges his administration faces. Though judging by the supreme court's reaction to Obama's criticism of a recent ruling on campaign finances not every one believes the prez walks on water.

Obama acknowledged the democratic defeat in Massachusetts but announced intentions to go ahead with health care reform anyway. He'll have to be more bipartisan about it this time if he wants it to work. Being belligerent didn't get him or his party anywhere. Obama also renewed his call for openly gay people to serve in the armed forces. All I can say is it's about time. Why we guard so closely the right to die for country on some far off God forsaken soil I'll never know. But health care and homosexuality weren't the only things on Obama's mind. Obama promised he'd have troops out of Iraq by August, renewed pleas for international forces to take the lead in Afghanistan, promised big money to fund clean energy products, said he'd make America's education system the best in the world and chastised republicans and democrats for not working together.

It was nice to see an American president give an eloquent state of the union address, 8 years of former president George Bush's painful awkwardness was enough and I'm tired of Americans coming across as cross-eyed and drooling morons in the international media. But, no matter how good Barrack Husein Obama sounded, talk is cheap. This country is facing foreign competition like never before. If America wants to keep freedom and prosperity as its brand names, there needs to be an about face from the status quo on capitol hill asap. If you'd like to listen to the State Of The Union speech in it's entirety it's up on YouTube here.

  1. International media can kiss my ass! As an American I don't believe I have to care about what they think of me and my country. Obama does generally sound good to international media due to his anti-American dominance views. He says what they want to hear. He says we are no better than them. Which is so wrong, because we are better because we are Americans. We ended colonialism in Africa, stopped two world wars saving Europe, ended the cold war, brought Communism to its knees, and many other international acts of heroism. We are the best, we set the status que, we are America. I invite Obama to get on board with American nationalism. But we all know he won't. What a sad sorry person he is to feel sorry for himself and his country for being idolized by the international stage. And your right that people dont watch the state of the union. I watched a bit until I got sick of seeing a standing ovation of claps after every corny line he read from the telepromter. Well I have nothing good to say about it. I am glad he is trying to make it easier for people to go back to school. I could use some help, the more money he wants to give me the better I say. I am sure if he could descriminate who gets the funding for college he wouldn't give me a dime. Good thind for me the government does't descriminate against political views yet. Obama and Chavez have similar ambitions. Good thing is this is America and we wont tolerate that kind of crap.
