Good news everyone! We're safe from terrorism! There's no way Osama Bin Laden can reach us through the iron bars we've built up around ourselves! The Guardian, a respected British newspaper unearthed a new revelation regarding the amount of power we have given law enforcement to oppress the citizens of the United States today. It sure seems like we ought to be more concerned with the very real threats from within our nation rather than Obsessing over ol' Osama.
The FBI has been fraudulently claiming to investigate terrorism in order to illegally search the e-mails of journalists under the auspices of the patriot act. Ladies and gentlemen, nothing on the internet or on your computer is secure from our recently empowered law enforcement bodies. In order to fight a rag tag band of dirty flea infested religious crazies the U.S. has sacrificed major civil liberties. You can bet that though one incident of abuse of the patriot act has been caught, there are thousands of others that have not been caught. It may not be too long before George Orwell's thought police become a reality. I'm not advocating revolution, but something better than apathy is required.
