The end of the New York Times?

The New York Times announced a bold new business strategy recently. They are going to give a certain amount of articles free and then have people pay for access after that starting in 2011. I hope it works because "the grey lady" is the best newspaper in the world, but why would people pay for a product they can get for free? Looks like I'll have to take them off of my Igoogle. You win this round Rueters.

  1. Well this is good news for the printed media companies if it works. Its also good news for journalism majors in school and the ones uneployed out there. I don't pay for a paper, and probably never will in my life. Everything is going to the internet and it is time that printed media companies change thier way of doing business. Paying for a paper is like keeping a player VHS, its old technology and it has been or will be replaced. 15 years from now our children will have to Google what a printed newspaper really was to find out about it.
