Obama to China, Fuck off

China's lobotomized media is in an uproar. After a year in which the Chinese government belittled President Barrack Obama at a major summit and opposed him at every opportunity, Obama has finally returned a volley in the form of an arms deal with Taiwan. The arms deal includes black hawk helicopters, mine ships and patriot missels. It sends a very clear message, specifically, "oh, you can make life hard for us can you? Well that's good, why don't you deal with this country you think of as a rebellious province while we arm them the latest in military technology."

Now, everybody knows that The USA and China can accomplish a lot more working together than they can fighting with each other, but, I for one applaud this action which seemingly heralds some far off Armageddon. International relations needs to be based on respect, and when China is blocking every UN resolution backed by America, and doing every thing they can to make our lives hard, it's about time we hit back. Let us pray we can sort our differences out, until then I'll be damned if you're going keep disrespecting me and my country without consequences.

Hopefully the apocalypse is not quite upon us, though it is no doubt near ... This is not the first and certainly will not be the last American Arms deal with Taiwan.
The only question is, is this the first time we'll see serious Chinese sanctions placed on America. The odds are that China can't afford to do that. But it appears that the stage is gradually being set for some distant polar shift where China becomes just as powerful a player as America, and a more belligerent one.

  1. I am pretty sure we are not giving them nukes. That would be a blunt act of war against China. First of all the UN resolutions are BS, nobody cares about or takes the UN seriously but the US. If the UN were to slap sanctions on the US we would just laugh in thier face. The se of the UN in foreign politics is a way to deal with countries by not really doing anything. I think this weapons move to Taiwan is dangerous and bold. Who knew Obama had the stones? Well I don't think he does. I don't think he did his homework on this on. This is the latest example of his ZERO foreign policy experience. So desperate to make some money to get his butt out of the sling over his current and continueing failing as this countries leader he forgot to think about the possible backlash from weapons sales to Tiawan by way of China. I honestly think after China responds he will back down and say "oops my bad". Please give me a break this move was a mistake, so we will put it up on the board with all his other ones.

  2. Point taken Joe. America did have a hand in developing nuclear technology in Taiwan, which the Taiwanese have twice tried to weaponize, but we have never armed the Taiwanese with nukes. It is a powerful trump card that we can play though. You're second point however is way off the mark.

Obama's arms sale may be bold, but it's not dangerous. It sends the message that the Chinese will need to deal with America fairly or America can be just as obstructionist as China has been. The United States has a long history of selling weapons to Taiwan, Bush had his own weapons sale to Taiwan. The Obama sale only differs in that it came early in his administration. Obama is not the bumbling oaf you seem to think he is Joe. He gets the freaking intelligence briefings!!! For Christ sake, any US modern President is probably the most informed man in the world at the time he holds office. This was not an act of desperation, it was a message. A message I have clearly outlined in the title of this post

  3. I just do not agree that selling weapons to Taiwan is the best way to send that message. I also would bet he needs more intelligence briefings to get up to speed than your average government official would in these situations. Being so far behind the curve must be frustrating, I bet he is constantly confused by his own words via the TelePrompTer. He may never reach the level of intelligence his Dem predecessor reached by saying , it depends on what your definition of "is" is. As well as being informed, do you think he cares about anything more than poles or how charismatic the public thinks his constant TV coverage is. I really think he was the great mistake of the decade. Oh and by the way I reserve the right to bash Obama openly and distastefully on your blog Tim. So when is the next blog post to be posted? I hope you stay away from the bumbling oaf for a while, at least until he wins another peace prize so the bashing commence.

  4. Nothing could be more welcome than your bashing of Obama Joe. I don't agree with what you say, but I'll let some one else fight to death to defend your right to say it!!

Anyway, I'm about to bash valentines day, then google buzz. Then I'll blog about something constructive, so keep reading and I'll keep posting.
